Maryland the Beautiful Act Sustainable Growth Subcabinet Five-Year Plan

The Maryland the Beautiful Act requires the Sustainable Growth Subcabinet to develop and publish the first five- year plan by July 1, 2024 to outline how to meet the goals in the legislation, provide an annual report on the state’s progress, and update the plan at least every five years through 2040.

Statewide Land Use Map

The Maryland Department of Planning’s (MDP) statewide land use map illustrates the general location of developed lands, including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and other urban areas, as well as the general density of residential development statewide. The map is used by MDP and other public and private stakeholders to support planning efforts.
