The Maryland Department of Planning conducted its second round of community outreach for A Better Maryland, the new state development plan, between October 2018 and January 2019. Using stakeholder feedback from the first round listening sessions (see below), staff developed the draft strategies as discussion topics for the second round. The project team conducted listening sessions for all interested stakeholders in 12 Maryland communities, with Planning Directors at the Maryland Association of Counties office, at the Maryland Planning Commissioners Association Conference, and online. The links below summarize the comments we received and indicate which topics and strategies those in attendance prioritized.
For those who were unable to attend one of our listening sessions, an online survey was open from the fall of 2017 through the spring of 2018. The Results of the A Better Maryland Survey have been posted on the site.
