A Better Maryland Enters a New Year

The Maryland Department of Planning (Planning) is excited to continue our progress made in 2017 as we move A Better Maryland into its next phase pf outreach. The quality and depth of ideas from local staff, officials, and residents has been tremendous. Planning is demonstrating Governor Hogan’s commitment to serving all Marylanders by visiting all 23 counties and Baltimore City because the best way to learn about Maryland’s communities is to visit in person and meet directly with local stakeholders. County officials received an update on the pending State Development Plan on December 7 at the 2017 MACo Winter Conference. The panel was called “Planning Ahead: Preparing for the New State Development Plan” and was moderated by Wicomico County Council Member Matthew Holloway.

A Better Maryland’s Online Survey Goes Live

Planning Assistance in Action

The Maryland Department of Planning (Planning) recently launched a website at ABetter.Maryland.gov, where stakeholders can review the project purpose and methodology, find out about upcoming listening sessions, read summaries of session input, and complete a survey to express their voice about A Better Maryland. The brief survey will remain open throughout the listening session period and is an excellent avenue for those who would like to share their opinion.
