A Better Maryland

Maryland’s new state development plan!

The Maryland Department of Planning (Planning) has completed the initial 24 public listening sessions as part of the community outreach plan for A Better Maryland, the new state development plan.

In addition to listening sessions, Planning conducted an online survey through spring 2018.  To view the Survey Results Click Here.

For meeting notes from the listening sessions, please click here.

Please check back as additional information about upcoming meetings to be held later in 2018 will be posted here.

The following themes will guide A Better Maryland

  1. Listening: Planning wants to hear from the public, local governments, state agencies and other stakeholders about how A Better Maryland can be a valuable resource at all levels
  2. Identify Local Priorities: The issues and information that should be included in A Better Maryland
  3. Identify Information Needs: The state and local data, resources, and assistance that are needed to achieve local goals

A Better Maryland will seek input from local governments, state agencies, Maryland residents, and others; enriching the lives of all Marylanders and serving as a valuable resource for years to come.
